Meet Our Team
KATHRYN B.
Katie is a writer, editor, and tutor based in New York City. She graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College, where she majored in Philosophy with an emphasis on formal logic. She is a regular contributor to publications such as The Nation. Katie was the valedictorian of her high school and a national merit finalist, and she scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT and SAT. Katie tutors the ACT, SAT, and ISEE, as well as mathematics, English, and creative writing.
GABBY D.
Gabby graduated from New York University with honors. After working in children's mental health for three years at the NYU Child Study Center, Gabby served as a special education teacher and instructional specialist with the NYC Department of Education for eight years. She now works full time as a private educator. Gabby specializes in Kindergarten Readiness and Elementary Education, and she prepares students for the AABL, ECAA, and ISEE.
JEANNINE F.
Jeannine graduated from LaGuardia High School and received her B.A. in English from Vassar College. She began peer tutoring in high school and has been tutoring professionally since graduating from Vassar in 2009. She has extensive experience working with students of all abilities and learning styles, including students with IEPs. Jeannine tutors the SHSAT, ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, TASC, GRE, and LSAT.
ROSE M.
Rose graduated from Harvey Mudd College, where she majored in General Engineering with a concentration in Dance. She is currently a student at the Alvin Ailey School in New York City. Her love of the arts allows her to approach math and science tutoring from a holistic perspective. Rose tutors students of all ages in math, reading, and science, and she also tutors all sections of the ISEE and ACT.
JOEY I.
Joey graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in Politics. As an undergraduate, he tutored with Upward Bound, a program designed to provide fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Joey also has extensive experience teaching English in California charter schools and abroad. He is currently a third year law student at Columbia University. Joey tutors all sections of the LSAT, SAT, and ACT.
NIKOLAS S.
Nikolas is a writer and professor based in New York City. He graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz, where he majored in both Literature and American Studies. He went on to earn his M.A. in African American Studies from Columbia University and his Ph.D in English from Duke University. Nikolas has tutored children in elementary and middle school, and he has taught college-level courses at Ivy League universities. He is currently a professor at NYU. Nikolas teaches writing, English, history, literature, psychology, and philosophy, as well as the ISEE and SSAT.
